Inside Avalon, A Christmas Note | 2

Some seasons are quiet —
others arrive with the fury of a bull in a china shop.

Since my last entry here at Inside Avalon, life has very much been the latter. From my little seaside home I call Avalon, it’s been a blur of painting, planning, packing, teaching, markets, and saying yes to opportunities that have felt both exciting and slightly surreal.

This season has also brought something very special, closer to home. Since my last post, another grandson has arrived — bringing the total to four. Life feels fuller in every sense, and I’m quietly grateful for the balance that family brings alongside the creative chaos that unfolds here (mind you, having four grandsons is chaos of the very best kind).

Milestones in the making …

One creative milestone along the way has been the creation of my first-ever linen design, in collaboration with Sarah at Outback Linen. The design has had a soft launch and has been beautifully received, with a more formal launch planned for the new year.

This week, George (the original) returned home after living it up in Chelsea, London since March, and a turtle painting is nearing completion — set to fly off to London in early January for a charity event.

Not everything has been seamless. A few days ago, a lovely woman from NSW alerted me to an issue with my website cart. Thanks to her kindness (and a few late nights), much of it is now back on track, with the remainder being tidied up. Once complete, I’ll be sending out a small New Year thank-you discount as a gesture of appreciation.

Looking ahead, plans for 2026 are beginning to settle into something tangible. New bodies of work are taking shape, including a new six-part shell series now well underway. So many opportunities are already in motion — with much of the groundwork already done.

Collaborations.
More workshops.
New series.
New spaces.
New stories.

I’m deeply grateful to everyone who supports this journey — especially my ever-patient side-kick, John. I couldn’t do this without him ❤️

Until next year,
Michelle x
